Into the home stretch we go at the Tour De France. The rest day helped many riders including Austrian champ Patrick Konrad who won his first Grand Tour stage with a solo victory from the late breakaway. Bad weather put a damper on things and nearly led to the odd slippery moment. Check out the contrast in how Konrad negotiated the bend at the 28km mark with that of .Watch him lean into the curve lifting his right leg to create balance on his bike so as not to end up as one of the spectators in reflective gear there. The rider in green’s wobble could be attributed to the wheels not being aligned properly but he didn’t help himself there either. He cut into the right side of the road too sharply so he tried to avoid going into the concrete barricade.

Nervy moments at the end for Konrad as a nine rider group tried to close him down in the last few kilometers of the race. The gap was too great, the Austrian winning by almost a minute. No change in the GC, Tadej looking on course for a second successive Tour De France victory.
